Terms & Conditions
Effective November 3, 2026 · Version 1.0
These terms are the agreement between you and CC Marketing Group for the use of SurfaceMap.cc. They cover what the service does, how credits and payments work, the limits of AI-generated analysis, and each side’s responsibilities.
SurfaceMap tests how AI models answer a defined set of questions on a given date. It samples AI responses; it does not observe real buyer conversations, and it does not guarantee any outcome.
1. The operator and your agreement
SurfaceMap.cc (“SurfaceMap,” “we,” “us”) is operated by CC Marketing Group, based in Ontario, Canada. These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, form a binding agreement between you and CC Marketing Group.
By creating an account, confirming your acceptance at signup, or otherwise using SurfaceMap, you agree to these terms. If you are using SurfaceMap for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: legal@surfacemap.cc.
2. What SurfaceMap does
SurfaceMap tests how supported AI models (currently ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok) describe, compare, and recommend a brand across buyer-journey stages for the needs, audiences, and markets you select. It records the responses, derives scores from our methodology, and produces reports.
Results are a sample: they reflect specific questions sent to specific models on specific dates. They are a point-in-time snapshot of how models answered our prompts, not a measurement of every real conversation your buyers have with AI, and not a guarantee of how any model will answer in future.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate registration details and keep them current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. If you add other people to a brand, you are responsible for their access and use within your account.
4. Credits and payments
SurfaceMap is pay-per-use. You buy credits, and running an analysis consumes credits.
- Pricing and currency. Credit packs are priced and charged in U.S. dollars (USD) through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are exclusive of any taxes that may apply; you are responsible for those.
- What consumes credits. Each model you run for a brand consumes credits per the rates shown in the app at the time (currently 10 credits per model, so a full four-model run is 40 credits). The credit cost of a run — including a re-run — is shown before you start it.
- Expiry. Purchased credits do not expire. Free credits granted at signup are a time-limited trial and expire as stated in the app (currently 14 days after signup).
- Transferability. Credits have no cash value, are tied to your account, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash except where required by law.
- Pricing changes. We may change credit prices. Changes apply prospectively to future purchases; they do not change the value of credits you have already bought.
Purchases are generally final except as described in Section 5 or as required by applicable consumer law. SurfaceMap does not currently offer a recurring subscription; if we introduce one, its renewal and cancellation terms will be presented at purchase.
5. Failed and incomplete analyses
If an analysis fails to deliver usable results — for example, because of an outage or error on our side or at an AI provider — we restore the credits for the affected portion. If a run completes only partially, we charge only for the parts that produced usable results and restore the rest. Transient provider issues are retried automatically where possible before any failure is recorded.
If you believe credits were charged for a run that did not deliver usable results, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, restore them.
6. AI accuracy and limitations
AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete, biased, or out of date, and the same question can produce different answers at different times. Scores and insights reflect SurfaceMap’s methodology applied to the specific models, prompts, and dates tested. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment before relying on or acting on any result.
7. No performance guarantees
SurfaceMap is a measurement and diagnostic tool. We do not promise that using it — or acting on its suggestions — will cause any AI model to recommend you, improve your visibility, rankings, traffic, leads, or revenue, or produce any other business outcome.
8. Your inputs
You are responsible for the brand information, website content, competitor names, and any client data you submit. By submitting it, you confirm you have the right to do so and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break any law.
SurfaceMap is built for business and market context. Do not submit sensitive personal information (for example, government identifiers, health or financial details, or special categories of personal data), and do not submit confidential information you are not permitted to disclose. Remember that your inputs are sent to third-party AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Ownership and permitted use
You keep all rights in the inputs you submit. You may use, export, and share the reports SurfaceMap generates for your own business purposes, including client work, subject to the rights of third parties (for example, the AI providers’ and cited sources’ rights in their own content).
We keep all rights in SurfaceMap itself — our software, branding, scoring methodology, and the service as a whole. Nothing in these terms transfers those rights to you. You may not copy, resell, or create a competing service from the platform or its methodology.
10. Reports and sharing
Reports are private to your account by default and are visible to the members you invite to a brand. SurfaceMap does not publish your reports or create public report links. If you export or forward a report yourself, you are responsible for who then sees it and for any confidentiality obligations that apply.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use SurfaceMap for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms.
- Access another user’s account or data without authorization.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
- Circumvent credit, rate, or usage limits, or probe or scrape the service in ways it is not intended to support.
- Submit content you do not have the right to submit, or that is unlawful or infringing.
Legitimate agency and consultant use — running analyses and producing reports for your own clients — is expressly permitted.
12. Third-party services and independence
SurfaceMap depends on third-party AI providers and infrastructure providers (described in the Privacy Policy). Their availability, behavior, and terms are outside our control, and changes on their side can affect the service.
SurfaceMap is independent of, and not endorsed by or affiliated with, the AI providers it measures. Names such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the services we test.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using SurfaceMap at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that creates legal or security risk, giving notice where reasonable.
On termination, your right to use the service ends. We will make your reports and data available for a reasonable period on request where we can, after which they may be deleted per the Privacy Policy. Purchased credits that remain unused at termination are not refundable except where required by law or where we terminate without cause.
14. Disclaimers, liability, and governing law
Except as expressly stated and to the extent permitted by law, SurfaceMap is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that results will be accurate or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CC Marketing Group is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business, arising from your use of SurfaceMap. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded, including certain consumer rights under applicable law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory rights you have where you live. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it directly.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. When a change is material, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
